I've passed by this spot many times, but this was my first time visiting. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome when we walked through the door. Asked if we were dining in or taking to go, we were told we could take a seat anywhere, and the waitress quickly came out to tell us about the spot, and the specials they were currently offering. She told us it is a family owned spot and the chef makes many of the sauces from scratch. We looked through the menu, they have a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches and rotating entrees. Struggling to settle on one item, my wife and I decided to share the Penne a la vodka sauce and a Cajun Grill Chicken bowl. The food came out pretty quickly, and the looked and smelled great. The smells were a good indicator, as we began eating we realized it tasted just as good as it smelled! This food was great, but I definitely enjoyed the penne the most. The sauce was delicious! Basil is a true gem, and a spot I'm wishing I had tried sooner. We would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a good "home cooked" meal. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in to the time we left. We will certainly return.

I had been thinking about the Italian Sub at Basil's Cafe since August. I wanted it for my birthday and didn't get a chance to, but TODAY I DID, and it was just as I remembered and absolutely delicious! Their staff is so kind and indulged in my story about this sandwich with me, and I felt so welcome! This sub is perfect with all of the flavor and the little kick from the sauce! Make sure you go hungry because I also grabbed the soup of the day and some banana pudding! I am stuffed!

We really enjoyed sitting on the patio with our dog. Service was very friendly and food was tasty! We ordered the chicken pot pie and penne. Will definitely be back and excited to try the other items on the menu.

I wish there were more than 5 stars! This place is simple and amazing. The chicken Caesar salad was perfect. Seasoned chicken, large shreds of Parmesan cheese and grape tomatoes, but most importantly the best home made Caesar dressing in any nearby restaurant. The penne in volka sauce with garlic bread was just as amazing Anyone near here should eat here. I am so happy to have ran into this place. (FYI, the garlic bread w requested to be done crispy, great flavor on that as well )

Basil Cafe & Catering – A Wonderful Surprise in High Point I dropped by Basil Cafe & Catering on a whim, and wow – what a wonderful surprise! This nice little spot in High Point completely exceeded my expectations. From the incredibly friendly service to the fresh, flavorful food, every part of my visit was top-notch. I walked out with a huge smile, feeling lucky I stumbled upon this gem. Exceptional Customer Service (100/10) The customer service here is off the charts – I’d rate it 100/10 if I could. The lady at the register was absolutely amazing and so kind. She made me feel welcome right away, and we ended up having a warm, friendly chat as I ordered. She even shared a fascinating personal story about her family (turns out her relative was a police officer back in Al Capone’s days in Illinois!) which was such a cool and unexpected conversation. That personal touch and genuine warmth made the experience truly memorable – you just don’t find service like this every day. Fresh and Flavorful Food Now let’s talk about the food – it was fantastic. I ordered the veggie wrap on a spinach tortilla, and the presentation was excellent (almost too pretty to eat!). Every bite was bursting with flavor, and the vegetables tasted incredibly fresh and crisp. The wrap had a great mix of textures and even a yummy spread that tied all the veggies together perfectly. I loved it so much that I immediately ordered a second one to-go for later (yes, it was that good). Highly Recommended – I’ll Be Back! Overall, Basil Cafe & Catering gets my highest recommendation. If you’re in the High Point area, you need to check this place out. Between the phenomenal service and the delicious food, it’s absolutely worth a visit. I’m already planning to come back to try other items on the menu (can’t wait to see what other tasty surprises they have in store). Seriously, don’t miss out on this little gem – it’s one of those finds that can truly make your day!

I've only been eating here a few months now when I'm on the north end of town. They cook it when you order it it's not sitting there in some heat lamp waiting to throw it in a plate after heating up. It's always fresh it's always good got the best homemade desserts the owner cooks with wine not oils and all that bad stuff for you it's really great food you don't know what you're missing unless you go there and sit down and try it for yourself. I give it a 10star rating.
